Baseball Recap: Chaminade Triumphs

Chaminade came out on top against Xaverian on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Flyers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Clippers a 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Flyers in their matchups with the Clippers: they've now won three in a row.

Collin Anderson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Chaminade: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 10-12 otherwise. Danny Nawrocki was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Chaminade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Xaverian only posted an OBP of .200.

Chaminade's record now sits at 12-13. As for Xaverian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaminade will venture away from home to challenge Monsignor McClancy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Xaverian, they will head out to square off against St. Edmund Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
