Bethesda Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles 53-28. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bethesda Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Cheever, who rushed for 234 yards and one TD while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and one score. Those 234 rushing yards gave Cheever a new career-high. Ralo Wesley was another key receiver, gaining 136 total yards and four touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Bethesda Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Hilton Head Christian Academy's QB won't forget Jeffrey Armstrong anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Eagles' side was Isaiah Jones, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Coincidentally, Bethesda Academy and Hilton Head Christian Academy will both be playing John Paul II the next time they take the field. The Blazers will head out to face the Golden Warrriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
