Baseball Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Jacobs finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Prairie Ridge Wolves by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since May 24, 2025.

Jacobs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Deegan, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Jacobs' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Prairie Ridge, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Jacobs will challenge Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Prairie Ridge, they will square off against Hampshire at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
