Softball Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westside can now relate to. They fell just short of the Malvern Leopards by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 13-10 to the Leopards when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Westside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vada Watkins, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Westside's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Malvern, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Malvern, they will square off against Pea Ridge on Friday. The Blackhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Leopards' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
