Baseball Game Preview: Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders vs. Tuscola Warriors

The Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders are taking a road trip to challenge the Tuscola Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Arthur-Okaw Christian has four straight victories, Tuscola has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Arthur-Okaw Christian earned a 5-2 win over Heritage.

Cody Kuhns was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Kuhns was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Joe Theriault was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grayson Schrock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tuscola didn't have quite enough to beat Clinton on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Arthur-Okaw Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Tuscola, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Arthur-Okaw Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Tuscola in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 11-9. Do the Conquering Riders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
