Basketball Game Preview: Watervliet Cannoneers vs. Hudson Bluehawks

Watervliet is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Hudson is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Watervliet Cannoneers will welcome the Hudson Bluehawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Watervliet made off with a 39-38 win over Greenville.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Hudson against Coxsackie-Athens on Saturday as the team secured an 88-57 victory. Fans of the Bluehawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Watervliet better keep an eye on Keith Robinson. He was instrumental in Hudson's win, almost dropping a double-double on 31 points and nine boards. The contest was Robinson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gannon Logue, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points.

Hudson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Watervliet is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Hudson, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
