Basketball Recap: Riesel Comes Up Short

If Riesel was riding high fresh off their 42-19 takedown of Wortham on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 46-45 to the Troy Trojans. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 62-41.

Riesel moved to 7-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Riesel will head out to square off against Mart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Troy, they will take on Frost in a tournament on Saturday.
