Football Recap: Mercer County Comes Up Short

Mercer County was the 36-7 winner over Riverdale when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles had to suffer through a 43-8 loss at the hands of the Rams. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gaege Heinsen was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 54 yards and a pair of scores.

Mercer County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Riverdale, their record now sits at 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercer County will host Erie-Prophetstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverdale, they will challenge Orion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
