Baseball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Muleshoe's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Muleshoe proved they can win big last Monday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dimmitt Bobcats, sneaking past 12-11. For the Mules, this counts as revenge for the 13-4 win the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Donovan Moreno, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ram Regalado also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Muleshoe is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. Dimmitt is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Muleshoe is set to challenge their familiar foe Shallowater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dimmitt will square off against rival Littlefield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
