Softball Game Preview: Grand County Red Devils vs. Parowan Rams

The Grand County Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Parowan Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Parowan likes a good challenge.

Grand County picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Moapa Valley. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Zoey Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Stansbury hit Parowan with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stallions. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parowan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Whitlee Andersen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ella Lemke also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Parowan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Grand County, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Parowan's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Grand County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Parowan, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 strikeouts. Will Grand County keep running through batters, or will the Rams buck the trend?

Grand County couldn't quite get it done against Parowan in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
