Baseball Game Preview: San Clemente Tritons vs. Dana Hills Dolphins

The San Clemente Tritons will head out to square off against the Dana Hills Dolphins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. San Clemente will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Friday, San Clemente needed a bit of extra time to put away El Toro. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Dana Hills' offense. They fell just short of Aliso Niguel by a score of 1-0 last Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ben Moulin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

San Clemente pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dana Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13-1.

San Clemente came out on top in a nail-biter against Dana Hills in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tritons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
