Softball Recap: Penn Cambria Panthers vs. Forest Hills Rangers
Penn Cambria had lost ten straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it 11. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for Forest Hills, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-1. Considering they have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Forest Hills' part, Avery Smiach made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
