Football Recap: Downey Piles Up the Points Against Warren + How To Watch

While Downey put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Warren. The Vikings blew past the Bears 40-0. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Bears are ranked 363rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oscar Rios was his usual excellent self, throwing for 202 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 84 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Downey was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 151 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Downey didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Oscar Aguilar and Damani Porras. Aguilar is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Porras got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Downey's record is now 8-1. As for Warren, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Downey has already played their next contest, a 34-0 win against Dominguez on the 30th. As for Warren, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-6 victory against Paramount on the 31st.
