Basketball Recap: New Bern Comes Up Short

New Bern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 57-35 to the West Craven Eagles. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

West Craven's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Felisha Wilson, who posted 29 points and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of West Craven's points. Shalawn Yates was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.

New Bern's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for West Craven, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

New Bern will host D.H. Conley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Craven, they will face off against North Pitt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
