Basketball Recap: Skyline Victorious

Skyline hadn't done well against Waxahachie recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Skyline Raiders snuck past the Waxahachie Indians with a 59-53 win. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Indians back in January, they had to take a 92-67 loss.

Waxahachie lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eddie Williams, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Christian Brown, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Skyline and bumps their season record up to 9-19. As for Waxahachie, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Skyline and Waxahachie could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Skyline will challenge DeSoto at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 417 places (487 vs. 70). Skyline is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Similarly, Waxahachie (ranked 84th) will meet Lancaster (ranked seventh) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
