Basketball Game Preview: Broome Centurions vs. Union County Yellowjackets

Broome is 2-8 against Union County since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Broome Centurions will host the Union County Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Broome has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Thursday, it was close, but Broome sidestepped Woodruff for a 49-47 win.

Meanwhile, Union County was able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain View Prep on Thursday, taking the game 49-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Broome better keep an eye on Eric Gray. He was instrumental in Union County's win, going 8 of 13 on his way to 26 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Gray a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Akeem Shaw, who posted six points and 16 rebounds.

Broome has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Union County, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
