Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Falls to Leroy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Oakwood had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LeRoy Panthers on Monday. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8.

Caydence Vermillion paced Oakwood's offense, picking up two kills. Vermillion got some help from Ashtyn Dailey and her three assists. Finally, Mady Nicoson kept Oakwood's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Oakwood will welcome Heyworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for LeRoy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tolono Unity at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
