Basketball Game Preview: Summit Storm vs. Caldera

Summit has gone 6-1 against Caldera recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Summit Storm will face off against Caldera at 7:00 p.m. Summit knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Caldera likes a good challenge.

Summit is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past Bend 74-46. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Lava Bears: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Caldera came up short against Mountain View on Tuesday and fell 65-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Caldera came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Mountain View is ranked 111th).

Caldera's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Summit, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Summit couldn't quite finish off Caldera in their previous matchup back in January and fell 71-69. Can Summit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
