Football Game Preview: Loyola College Prep Flyers vs. North DeSoto Griffins + Official Tickets

Loyola College Prep is 0-3 against North DeSoto since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Flyers will take on the Griffins at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated after eight games, but that won't be the case come Friday.

On Friday, Loyola College Prep humbled Booker T. Washington-Shreveport with a 54-26 victory. Fans of the Flyers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Loyola College Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Walsworth, who picked up 88 receiving yards and two TDs. Walsworth has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played. Bryce Restovich was another key player, having thrown for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North DeSoto against Woodlawn-Shreveport on Friday as the squad secured a 62-12 win. The Griffins are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the seventh contest they've won by 20+ points this season.

North DeSoto's win came from a few key players Loyola College Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kenny Thomas, who rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Braelyn Latin was another major influence, as he rushed for 85 yards and ran in a TD.

North DeSoto was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 214 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Loyola College Prep's record now sits at 8-0. As for North DeSoto, their record is now an identical 8-0.

Loyola College Prep was taken down by North DeSoto 49-13 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Flyers were down 28-6.
