Madison never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Fayette Ware Wildcats with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Cooper Bonham made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Stranak, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Aiden Alexander was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Madison's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Fayette Ware, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Madison will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Trinity Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. As for Fayette Ware, they will venture away from home to take on Bolivar Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
