Volleyball Recap: Cherokee Trail Starts off Right with Win over Ralston Valley + How To Watch

Cherokee Trail gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They skirted past the Ralston Valley Mustangs 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Cherokee Trail had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 24-26, 25-15, 25-23, 15-10.

Among those leading the charge was Harper Wilson, who had 14 digs and three aces. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Cherokee Trail was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Defeat or not, Ralston Valley got some senior leadership from Taylor Harteker and Courtney Miller. Harteker had 22 assists and ten digs, while Miller had 11 digs and three aces.

Cherokee Trail has already played their next game (against Douglas County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ralston Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Fort Collins on the 26th.
