Baseball Game Preview: Freer Buckaroos vs. Bruni Badgers

The Freer Buckaroos will take on the Bruni Badgers in a tournament on Friday. Bruni took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Freer, who comes in off a win.

Freer is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Cotulla. Freer came out on top against Cotulla by a score of 11-6 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Buckaroos in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Isaac Gonzales, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Landon Hinojosa was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bruni unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Kaufer on Tuesday, falling 19-4.

Everything went Freer's way against Bruni in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Freer made off with a 9-1 victory. Does Freer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bruni turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
