Soccer Game Preview: Hagerty vs. Colonial

The Hagerty Huskies will face off against the Colonial Grenadiers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hagerty and four for Colonial.

Last Thursday, Hagerty didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Highland Prep and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Highlanders are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Colonial fell victim to University and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 5-0.

Colonial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hagerty, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5-1.

Hagerty took their win against Colonial when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hagerty since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
