Basketball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Faribault Falcons at home by a 69-52 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Winhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-45 back in January.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Faribault, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17.

Coming up, Winona will head out to square off against Mayo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Winona likes a good challenge. As for Faribault, they will be playing at home against Mankato East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
