Basketball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Tri-Valley Vikings

The Rock Falls Rockets and the Tri-Valley Vikings will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Rock Falls was able to grind out a solid victory over East Dubuque, taking the game 65-53.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They strolled past the Chiefs with points to spare, taking the game 59-43. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Chiefs are ranked 569th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tri-Valley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Rock Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Rock Falls came up short against Tri-Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 39-35. Can Rock Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
