Recap: American Heritage Patriots vs. American Heritage Stallions
There's no place like home for the American Heritage Patriots, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 47-41 win over the Stallions on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Stallions are ranked 135th).
The Stallions lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xander Gerard, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Zack Burrow was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
The Patriots' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-7. As for the Stallions, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Patriots will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 515 points over their last seven games. As for the Stallions, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
