Softball Recap: Tri-Township Tigers vs. Westville Blackhawks

Tri-Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 11-0 walloping at the hands of the Westville Blackhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Tri-Township of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Westville's part, Kierstin Vargas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Vargas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Vargas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
