Softball Game Preview: Caldwell County Tigers vs. Webster County Trojans

The Caldwell County Tigers will square off against the Webster County Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caldwell County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Caldwell County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Livingston Central just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Harper Holeman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Carlee Palm also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Webster County made easy work of Lincoln County on Saturday and carried off a 9-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Caldwell County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Webster County, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Caldwell County suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Webster County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
