Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Mauldin

Mauldin extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Zara Leamon. The Mauldin Mavericks walked away with a 57-44 victory over the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets on Friday thanks in part to Leamon, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Imani McIver was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks she has posted since back in February of 2024.

T.L. Hanna's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tamerah Wynn, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Kamiyah Christian, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Mauldin's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for T.L. Hanna, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Mauldin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-29 victory against Easley on the 28th. As for T.L. Hanna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-38 loss against Westside on the 25th.
