Basketball Game Preview: Goochland Bulldogs vs. Western Albemarle Warriors

Goochland hasn't had much luck against Western Albemarle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Goochland Bulldogs will challenge the Western Albemarle Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Goochland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Wednesday, Goochland came up short against Lunenburg Central and fell 42-32.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western Albemarle). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 68-38 win over Fluvanna County. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors who have now won five matches in a row.

Western Albemarle has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Goochland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Goochland took a serious blow against Western Albemarle when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 59-2. Can Goochland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
