Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Ararat Eagles vs. Oceanside Mariners

The Mt. Ararat Eagles will head out to take on the Oceanside Mariners at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Ararat is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Mt. Ararat lost to Edward Little at home by a 68-51 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Red Eddies are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Oceanside didn't have too much trouble with Morse on Friday as they won 68-49. The game marked the Mariners' most dominant victory of the season.

Oceanside has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Mt. Ararat, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Mt. Ararat lost to Oceanside on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2017. Thankfully for Mt. Ararat, Mike Norton (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
