After a string of six wins, Grand Traverse Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 48-17 loss at the hands of the St. Mary Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why Grand Traverse Academy lost, don't look at Megan Pavwoski. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points along with six boards and four blocks. Pavwoski has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last four times she's played.

Even though they lost, Grand Traverse Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Grand Traverse Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for St. Mary, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Traverse Academy will head out to challenge Traverse City Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Traverse Academy is facing Traverse City Christian at the right time seeing as Traverse City Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for St. Mary, they will face off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
