Crest came out on top against Marmaton Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run first inning. The Lancers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 16-1 win. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jensen Barker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Crest got a massive performance out of Drake Weir, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Weir has launched this season. Henry White was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Crest's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Marmaton Valley, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-8.

Crest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
