Softball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

If North Central was feeling good fresh off their 19-3 takedown of Pike on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 12-2 to the Martinsville Artesians on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Artesians: they've now lost three in a row.

North Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaelee Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Martinsville, they moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, North Central will face off against Terre Haute North Vigo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Martinsville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Whiteland at 6:00 p.m.
