Softball Game Preview: Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles

Calvary Baptist Academy is 9-0-1 against Evangel Christian Academy since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Calvary Baptist Academy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on West Monroe with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Addison Willis's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mallory Carver was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two doubles. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Bockhaus, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.

Calvary Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Downsville on Saturday, taking the game 6-1.

Calvary Baptist Academy's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.7 runs. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Everything went Calvary Baptist Academy's way against Evangel Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Calvary Baptist Academy made off with a 19-1 win.
