Volleyball Recap: Loretto Comes Up Short

The Loretto Mustangs came up short against the Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawks on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11, 20-25, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Loretto saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tate Newton had 12 digs and 12 assists.

Avery Morris was the offensive standout of the contest as she had six digs and four aces.

Loretto's defeat dropped their record down to 20-27. As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Loretto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, they will challenge Eagleville at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
