Volleyball Recap: Elk Grove Grenadiers vs. Streamwood Sabres
Elk Grove extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-19 in the process. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Streamwood Sabres. If the Grenadiers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Sabres when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Streamwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. Winning may never get old, but they sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Heewon Yang was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 11 digs and four assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played. Gabriel Inorio also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
Elk Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Evanston on the 26th. As for Streamwood, they will venture away from home to take on Elgin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
