Basketball Recap: Jefferson West Has No Trouble Against Christ Prep Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spring Hill, Jefferson West was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They strolled past the Christ Prep Academy Patriots with points to spare, taking the game 53-36.

Kaylee Heinen was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals. Jefferson West is 5-2 when Heinen posts three or more steals, but 0-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Harriet Dean, who went 5 for 12 en route to 17 points and six boards.

Jefferson West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Christ Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Abby Theiss, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Theiss is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lydia Hoover, who posted 11 points.

Jefferson West's record is now 5-8. As for Christ Prep Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
