Football Recap: Dubois Skates Past Mifflin County with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hollidaysburg, DuBois was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mifflin County Huskies 48-21. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

DuBois' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Wingard, who threw for 279 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. The Beavers are 7-1 when Wingard posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. London Duncan helped Wingard out on the ground, rushing for 105 yards and one TD, while also picking up 45 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something DuBois proved: they limited Mifflin County to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Dalton Reasinger for the heroic effort on defense: he. DuBois didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.1.

DuBois didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jaxson Hanzely picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

DuBois' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.7 points over those games. As for Mifflin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coming up, DuBois will take on Hollidaysburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Beavers will need to watch out since the Golden Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine games. Mifflin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
