Basketball Recap: East Grand Rapids Takes a Loss

East Grand Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Rockford Rams 59-22. The matchup marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East Grand Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Rockford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Grand Rapids will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cadillac at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Rockford will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Grand Haven at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Rockford is on a 14-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Grand Haven a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
