Football Game Preview: Stratford Spartans vs. Jersey Village Falcons + How To Watch

The Stratford Spartans will take on the Jersey Village Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jersey Village took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Stratford, who comes in off a win.

Stratford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Northbrook to the tune of 48-12 on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Stratford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Guzman led the charge by throwing for 175 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing, while also punching in one rushing score. Those 175 passing yards gave Guzman a new career-high. Matthew Selesky was another key signal caller, throwing for 146 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Jersey Village played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 41-16 to Cy-Fair. The Falcons have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The victory made it two in a row for Stratford and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 29 points in those games. As for Jersey Village, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.
