Softball Recap: Del Rio Rams vs. Laredo LBJ Wolves

Del Rio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Laredo LBJ Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Del Rio of the 8-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.

Hope Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Syann Casillas was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

On Laredo LBJ's side, Alexis Martinez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Martinez has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances.
