Baseball Game Preview: Gulf Coast Sharks vs. Fort Myers Green Wave

For the second straight game, Gulf Coast will face off against Fort Myers. The Sharks will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. Gulf Coast will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Gulf Coast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Fort Myers.

Gulf Coast got a great performance from Eric Hermanson as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Hermanson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Sharks are 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Thomas Eaton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Michael Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Gulf Coast lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Gulf Coast is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Myers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.
