Softball Recap: New Hope-Solebury Drops Highest Score of Season Against William Tennent

New Hope-Solebury made up a huge gap compared to their last game against William Tennent, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions blew past the Panthers 18-3 on Tuesday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mabel Klossner and Dagny Mobley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Klossner tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Mobley pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Klossner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Klossner went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Mobley went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Kaylee Harris was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mary Stefanache, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

New Hope-Solebury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

The win got New Hope-Solebury back to even at 4-4. As for William Tennent, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.2, the Hatters 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, William Tennent will square off against rival Quakertown at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
