Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Christian Warriors vs. Gulliver Prep Raiders

Westminster Christian is 0-10 against Gulliver Prep since December of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Westminster Christian Warriors will take on the Gulliver Prep Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Saturday, Westminster Christian was beaten by Bishop Verot 65-28. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Vikings are ranked 82nd).

Meanwhile, Gulliver Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap back in December of 2024 as they fell 43-38 to Mater Academy Charter.

Despite the defeat, Gulliver Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mikayla Brown posted 31 points. That was a full 81.6% of Gulliver Prep's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

This is the second loss in a row for Westminster Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Gulliver Prep, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Westminster Christian might still be hurting after the 66-40 defeat they got from Gulliver Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine assists.
