Baseball Recap: La Junta Find Success

While La Junta's win against Salida wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Spartans 4-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Treyce Lovato tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because La Junta is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-13 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Denahy, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Calvin Hill, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

La Junta's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Salida, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
