Recap: Xavier College Prep Gators vs. Buena Colts
The Xavier College Prep Gators put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Buena 108-18 at home. Considering Xavier College Prep has won seven contests by more than 22 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Xavier College Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominique Nesland, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 assists. The match was Nesland's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Irene (Noelle) Guiamatsia, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Xavier College Prep pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.5 points per game. As for Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Xavier College Prep will play host again and welcome Phoenix Country Day, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buena, they will be playing at home against Catalina Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
