Football Recap: West Aurora Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Elgin last Friday, West Aurora came back down to earth. The Blackhawks fell 42-35 to the South Elgin Storm on Friday. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, West Aurora still got an impressive performance from Mason Atkins, who rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Lesroy Tittle also helped with two TDs in total.

West Aurora's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for South Elgin, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-2.

West Aurora wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 49-21 win against Bartlett on the 26th. As for South Elgin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 46-14 victory against West Chicago on the 26th.
