Soccer Game Preview: Washougal vs. Mark Morris

The Washougal Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Mark Morris Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washougal's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Washougal came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Hockinson.

Meanwhile, Mark Morris scored the most goals they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Ridgefield, falling 6-2. The defeat leaves the Monarchs still looking for their first win of the season.

Washougal now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mark Morris, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3-2.

Washougal was able to grind out a solid win over Mark Morris when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washougal since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
