Basketball Recap: Lab University Christian Academy National Comes Up Short

Lab University Christian Academy National had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-4 to make it four. They took a blow against the Winston Salem Christian National Lions, falling 83-47. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kings of the 86-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Lab University Christian Academy National's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Payne, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Dancy, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.

As for Winston Salem Christian National, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points over those games.

It was another big night for Bradley Floyd, who posted 19 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Mclean, who put up 14 points.

Coming up, Lab University Christian Academy National will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Winston Salem Christian National, they will face off against The Burlington School at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' defense better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 62.2 points per game this season.
